He’s an all-round nice guy with a gift for numbers and a love of fishing, but what you may not know is that accountant and Bundaberg BS3 team member, Adam Bargenquast, is stepping up to help with client re-engagement.
We all know just how important service engagement letters are for getting started with any new client. A transparent service engagement letter ensures we’re all swimming in the same direction, it sets the trajectory for achieving success, and it’s a cornerstone element of any trusted advisor-client relationship.
This is a process that shouldn’t just occur at the beginning of a relationship – it should be something we keep in mind all the way through.
Recently, our tax teams have been tasked with re-engaging clients, especially clients who have had write-offs and write-ups, to mitigate scope creep. Adam has played a key role in ensuring the success of this initiative.
Take it from Managing Partner, Mark McLean.
“Adam has championed this process and has done a great job of assisting with the re-engagement process. He’s really embraced the review process, which resulted in open, transparent conversations. This has paved the way so we can deliver the best service to our clients,” said Mark.
“This process has allowed Adam to make recommendations on the scope of work and prepare new quotes accordingly to re-engage the clients. His commitment and leadership played a key role in the project's success in the BS3 team.”
Adam's Manager, Peter Bunch, agrees that Adam has been a champion for Ulton throughout this process.
"Adam always assists with running and organising the weekly meetings for the team. We talked about the re-engagement project and he’s great with excel and setting up budgets, so I was happy to hand the process over to him,” said Peter.
But Peter understands that budgeting and excel proficiency are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Adam’s talents.
"His biggest strength is that he is natural with numbers—they mean something to him, and he can problem solve because he has this understanding. He’s self-motivated and focused. You really couldn't ask for a better accountant in your team,” said Peter.
Recently, Adam accompanied Mark and Peter to see Ulton clients, the Carmichaels, in Dalby.
"Adam handled the meetings with these high-level clients very well,” recalled Peter.
Peter and Mark encourage Ulton's accountants to participate in client experiences and meetings.
For Adam, this means that in a few months, he’ll be joining Mark in Brisbane to meet with another Ulton client, Gibb Bros Group.
"This opportunity is part of engaging accounting team members in client discussions and giving them direct exposure to clients' businesses and what they’re all about,” said Mark.
"Building strong client relationships is essential, and Adam's ability to do so has earned him this opportunity to take the next step in his career.”
Adam's success with Ulton is a testament to upholding our shared values.
It serves as a reminder for us all that good work never goes unnoticed and when individuals go the extra mile, great things happen.
When he’s not excelling in his role as an accountant, you can find Adam casting a line at his favourite Woodgate Beach fishing spot.
He loves nothing more than a fishing trip with his mates. They’ll often travel as far as 13km offshore to catch red emperor, sweet lip, mackerel, and parrot fish.
In a few weeks, Adam will be off on his third adventure to the Cape to unwind, throw a line out, and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.
Every day we have great people doing awesome things, and we want to shout these successes from the rooftops (but we will start with the newsletter).
Thank you to everyone who contributes to the success of Ulton. Your efforts don’t go unnoticed.
