People & Culture Update

There’s been a lot happening across People & Culture over the past few months, from the Performance Project, to Leadership Development and nurturing our talent pipeline.

Performance Project Update

Our Performance Project continues to progress. We’ve been working closely with People Co., who have now completed initial sessions with Partners and Managers across all teams. These sessions focused on defining performance objectives and identifying the success signals that demonstrate what excellence looks like.

The next phase will involve Partners and Managers:

  • Reviewing the draft performance objectives and success signals
  • Providing feedback to help refine and strengthen the framework

From there, we’ll continue refining the overall process, explore how it can be built into ELMO, and work toward a planned rollout in the next financial year.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far — your input is critical in shaping a performance framework that is meaningful, clear and aligned with how we work at Ulton.

Launch Pad – Launch Your Career at Ulton

Our Ulton Launch Pad initiatives continue to go from strength to strength.

Our connections with local Bundaberg schools remain strong, with several schools supported through our sponsorship of the Cashy app, which helps students build essential financial skills early.

Schools are currently applying for our ECOMAN Business Simulation, which will run from 15–17 July, and we’re also excited to welcome our first round of vacation students during the upcoming Easter school holidays.

With two of our new team members, Benjamin Blake and Jade Galt, having come through both the ECOMAN and vacation program, it is clear the importance of these initiatives on attracting high potential talent to the firm.

A huge thank you to the team members who invest their time, knowledge and energy into mentoring and supporting these students — your contribution plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of Ulton talent.

Dale Carnegie Leadership Team

In February, our Partners and Managers came together at the Bargara Surf Club for a two-day Dale Carnegie leadership session, facilitated by Annemarie Sage Wood.

The session provided valuable space to step away from day-to-day operations and focus on alignment across the leadership group. Over the two days, we worked through a series of problem and opportunity statements, exploring ideas and practical solutions.

Importantly, the session wasn’t just about discussion — we came away with clear, actionable tasks that the leadership group will continue to work through together. We also revisited the Dale Carnegie Principles, explored resilience, and reflected on our ways of working as a collective leadership team.

To round out the first day, Mark and Jane kindly hosted dinner, which is always an incredibly enjoyable evening and a great opportunity to continue to connect with the team.

Thank you to everyone involved for their openness, energy and commitment to strengthening leadership alignment across Ulton.

If you have any questions about People and Culture initiatives please always feel free to reach out to Hannah Murchie.
