Speed and accuracy are something Jes Wilkinson, Wealth Manager at Bundaberg’s Wealth Management team understands better than most.

The Masters degree qualified financial planner understands clients need the correct advice in a timely manner.

“I’m a very empathetic and emotional person, so having a close personal relationship with clients is very rewarding,” Jes said.

“We become part of their lives and that’s what allows us to give them the best advice tailored to their needs.”

Jes said the Wealth Management team helped people throughout their careers, businesses and lives, but retirement planning was a key focus for the team.
“Our team manage the retirement needs of clients at least a couple of times per week, but most individuals only experience the retirement process once in their lives.” she said

“It can be confronting and scary and we give them peace of mind that they will be able to live the life they want in retirement.”

The seven-strong team delivers wealth management advice to a range of clients across Queensland. Jes also travels to Ulton’s Gladstone office quarterly and the Fraser Coast office each week.

She explains that the main challenge of the role is keeping client’s wealth management strategy in line with their changing circumstances.

“The needs of clients are always changing, and so too is legislation and regulation within the industry. The challenge for us is to keep communicating with clients so that their needs continue to be met in light of these changes,” she said.

Speed and accuracy play a part in Jes’s slightly left field hobby of competitive pistol shooting.

Growing up on a small property in Cawarral, south-west of Yeppoon, Jes was familiar with guns, but recently took up the sport.

To wind down, she spends time at the Bundaberg and Fraser Coast Gun Clubs or competes at Raglan Shooting Club near Rockhampton.

“It’s fun, a lot of adrenalin, it’s exciting,” Jes enthused, before heading into yet another client meeting.
